invites applications for the following positions:
Research associate for a project on analyses of in situ, model-assimilated, and remote sensing-based ocean-atmosphere-land data sets to quantify characteristics of the Indo-Pacific Warm Pool's decadal-multidecadal variability and its impacts on climate. Background requirements include a Ph.D. degree or an M.S. degree with at least five years relevant experience in Meteorology/Physical Oceanography/closely-related field, and some experience with statistical analysis techniques. Some experience of using Unix/Linux-operated workstations and data servers, and graphics software such as GrADS and IDL is essential.
The appointment in this position will begin on or about 1 October 2005. Starting salary and fringe benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
