Fully-interactive discussion rooms with private discussion and file-sharing facilities

The DecVar discussion room applet allows members to have "real-time" converstions with researchers from around the world. It is a java applet which runs within your web browser. The application also allows members to set up a direct "peer-to-peer" connection between two members to allow them to send and receive files. In addition, you can enter a private conversation with other online members or create and join new rooms for private discussions.

Fully-interactive bulletin boards

The DecVar Forum is a long lasting comment repository for having extended and varied conversations on climate research and other relevant material. The system is designed to allow members to read and follow along the conversations and post responses to questions and comments by other members. There is also a feature for leaving messages for other DecVar members.

Context-sensitive help information for each page

Each page has help specific to the tasks or features you are currently viewing. When viewing specific help, other related help topics will be displayed for your use. You can view the help features from all pages within DecVar.

E-mail addresses and paging facilities to contact other members

While visiting pages within the DecVar center, you can see a list of members presently online. The paging feature allows you to send them a short text message which they can view and respond to.

A list of on-line members

When you login DecVar, you can now see what other members are online at the same time.

Submission and on-line review of abstracts for meetings announced on DecVar

The submission of abstracts for conferences posted on DecVar has been added. The submitting members can edit their abstracts with these facilities.

Complete papers on decadal climate variability published in American Meteorological Society publications and abstracts of papers on decadal climate variability published in American Geophysical Union publications

The American Meteorological Society has graciously permitted CRCES to place papers on decadal climate variability published in its publications in the Documents area of DecVar; these papers are available in the bibliography. The American Geophysical Union has graciously permitted CRCES to place abstracts of papers on decadal climate variability published in its publications; these abstracts are available in the bibliography. Papers/abstracts published in other publishers’ journals will be placed in the bibliography as and when their permissions to do so are received. The bibliography is certainly not complete, so please send references to missing papers to support@decvar.org in order to update the bibliography.

The Program of and presentations made in the NASA-CCR-CRCES Workshop on Decadal Climate Variability

Poster sessions, seminars, workshops, and other meetings are held in the Auditorium. Presentations made in past meetings may also be available in the Auditorium. This workshop agenda and papers is available for members to view.
